Needing to depict the battle of comparison that I face daily. Creating this piece allowed me to explore my feelings when it came to why I felt the need to compare my looks, my journey to other people or peers. Crossing the eyes out of this piece was symbolic of my need to look inwards for my answers and not to my peers. I create my own story and I develop my own style. The Copper droplets were used to display the purge of emotions of self doubt, and envy. This isn’t a battle that can be won overnight but I do look inwards daily to find out what it is I need and how can I obtain it, in my own way at my own pace.
